Adolescents Empowerment
YHBI Adolescents Life skills mentorship Programs
Life skills and behaviour change mentorship programs are a strategic investment in Adolescents development, equipping young people with the knowledge, values, and competencies needed to make informed decisions and achieve positive life outcomes. Through structured guidance, mentorship strengthens resilience, leadership, employability, and social responsibility while reducing vulnerability to risky behaviours.
These interventions contribute to improved wellbeing, educational attainment, economic participation, and community engagement, ultimately fostering a generation of empowered, productive, and socially responsible citizens.
Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Mentorship Programs
The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Talk under Youth Hope Builders Initiative, within the Y-CARE framework, is a structured, youth-friendly intervention designed to equip adolescents with accurate, age-appropriate knowledge on puberty, reproductive health, consent, gender equality, and responsible decision-making.
The sessions are delivered through safe school- and community-based forums facilitated by trained mentors, health professionals, and peer educators.
The programme promotes open dialogue, life skills development, and positive behaviour change while addressing risks such as early pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and gender-based violence. It also strengthens referral pathways to youth-friendly health services.
YHBI integrates ASRH programming with continuous research on adolescent health literacy, access to services, cultural barriers, and behavioural outcomes to inform evidence-based interventions and policy advocacy in partnership with stakeholders such as the County Governments and donors partners.
Sports and skills development support
The Sports and Skills Development Support Programme under YHBI, within the Y-CARE framework, promotes holistic child and youth development through structured sports engagement and life skills training. The programme uses sports such as football, athletics, and team games to build discipline, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and healthy lifestyles among children and adolescents.
It is delivered through school-based clubs, community sports sessions, and mentorship-driven training that integrates physical activity with structured life skills coaching, including goal setting, communication, and conflict resolution. The programme also supports talent identification and pathways for youth development in sports and related creative industries.
YHBI integrates monitoring and research on the impact of sports participation on psychosocial wellbeing, school retention, and behaviour change, informing evidence-based programming and advocacy for youth development.
