Youth Empowerment and Leadership
Supporting young people through skills development,
entrepreneurship, mentorship, employability training, and leadership
initiatives.
Child Protection
and Safeguarding
Promoting safe environments and advocating for the rights and
wellbeing of vulnerable children.
Research and Innovation
Conducting research, data collection, analysis, innovation
projects, and evidence generation to inform development programming.
Education and Learning
Supporting educational initiatives, school-based programs, digital
learning, and literacy interventions.
Health and Wellbeing
Contributing to programs focused on Adolescent
Sexual and Reproductive Health Mentorship Programs, mental wellness,
nutrition, and community health promotion.
Climate
Action and Environmental Sustainability
Participating in environmental conservation, climate resilience,
and sustainability initiatives.
Monitoring,
Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
Supporting data management, program monitoring, impact assessment,
and learning systems.
Communications and Digital Media
Creating content, storytelling, social media campaigns,
photography, videography, and advocacy materials.
Resource
Mobilization and Proposal Development
Supporting fundraising efforts, donor engagement, grant writing,
and partnership development.

Placement Options
In-Person Placements
Interns and volunteers may be placed within YHBI programs and
community projects in Kenya.
Virtual Placements
Selected assignments can be completed remotely, allowing
participants from anywhere in the world to contribute to YHBI’s mission.
Duration
Flexible placements are available
throughout the year:

Short-term: 1–3 months
·
Medium-term: 3–6 months
·
Long-term: 6–12 months
Applicants may indicate their preferred
start date and duration.

Funding Information
YHBI is committed
to creating learning opportunities; however, placements are currently unpaid.
Participants are
responsible for:

Travel expenses
·
Accommodation
·
Health and travel insurance
·
Daily living costs
·
Personal transportation
YHBI can provide
guidance on accommodation options, local orientation, and visa information
where applicable.
