YHBI has partnered with Ministry of Health to offer mentorship on Sexual health and hygiene to all school going children in senior upper primary schools, Junior Secondary schools and secondary schools. Since the outbreak of covid 19, Approximately 7,500/145,231 school going girls have received mentorship trainings and Sanitary product support in Migori County.
It is observed that the rate of pregnancies have significantly changed and about 95%of these girls embraces peer to peer talks and mentorships that have strengthened their urge to continue with education.
YHBI reaches out to our teenage and adolescent girls to support them through training and mentorship on sexual health and menstrual management. We offered guidance and counselling to over 2, 857 Teenagers and adolescent girls on:
1. Sexual health orientation.
2. Dangers of Premarital sex, early unwanted pregnancies,
2. Menstrual management and hygiene.
3. Menstrual product distribution and Support.
4. Guidance and counselling on STIs and HIV/ ADS awareness.
5. Mental health support.
6. Psychosocial support to girls with acute health conditions and those with physical disability.
